OCP
Target: Early 2027Maine adult-use dispensary POS for OCP rules
Written against OCP rules: the 14% adult-use tax that replaces the 5.5% general rate rather than stacking on it, and Metrc traceability. When CannAgent opens in Maine it will be for adult-use (21+) sales: Maine keeps no patient registry, so a medical sale is refused at the register until the written-certification flow is built.
- Seed-to-sale system
- Metrc (Franwell)
- Taxes at the register
- At the register, as of September 2026: 14% on adult-use cannabis sales (in place of the 5.5% general rate), and 5.5% (8% on prepared food) on sales to qualifying patients; no local cannabis tax, and the cultivation excise is paid upstream.

Maine’s tax rules and purchase limits are written into CannAgent’s compliance engine from the rule text. Where a figure still waits on an answer from the OCP, it is flagged against the rule rather than guessed.
What we have written for Maine
Maine coverage is written against OCP rules: the caregiver-storefront licences (Maine is unusually broad here), the medical and adult-use tax split (14% adult-use, 5.5% to a qualifying patient, and 14% again when medical-program product is sold to someone who is not one), and Metrc reporting. Today that means CannAgent is written for adult-use sales in Maine, and a Maine medical sale is refused at the register.
